Introduction to web development

To create web pages, ideally we need to learn how to speak three languages understood by the computer:

1. HyperText Markup Language (HTML) (5 minutes)
   • Brings structure to web pages
   • Consists of tags (we'll talk about that in a sec)
2. Cascading Stylesheets (CSS) (5 minutes)
   • Brings layout and styling to your web page
   • We use this to tell the browser how a web page should look like
3. JavaScript (2 minutes)
   • For making the webpage behave how we want it to

Note: Address IT students and tell them to never believe people who say JavaScript is the core of web development. Remind them that HTML is the most important language of web pages.

Note: Address non-IT students and tell them that all of this is gonna be easy, and no need to fret.

Apps we need

This should ideally be done with a desktop or laptop computer. Web development with mobile devices is not recommended.
